Stump the Social Media Guy: Tip 3, Gymnastics instructor

The third post in the Stump the Social Media Guy series is for gymnastics teachers.

Someone contacted me earlier this week asking for advice on how to attract more interest in their gymnastics organization through social media.

One way for gymnastics instructors to engage with their social media audience is to record weekly tutorial videos.

Each week, record a 30–60-second video of yourself or a student demonstrating a gymnastics technique or routine, then upload it to a video sharing site like YouTube or Vimeo, and share it on your social media networks. This will do several things to increase engagement:

  1. Parents of your students, who follow your social media accounts, will find the videos useful and share them with their friends who might be interested in signing up
  2. If your student is in the video s/he will share the video with their friends and family, and so will their parents
  3. It will allow potential student a chance to test drive your service at home before deciding to sign up
  4. Over time, it will establish you as an expert, keeping you front of mind when someone is looking for a gymnastics instructor

If you liked this tip, please share it with others. If you want your business to featured in the next instalment of Stump the Social Media Guy, post your business type and name in the comments below, on my Facebook page, on my Twitter feed, or send me an email.
