Stump the Social Media Guy: Tip 12, candy shop owner

Pro tip: If you own a candy shop, share photos of people enjoying your treats.

The 12th post in the Stump the Social Media Guy series is for candy shop owners.

For years—decades really—I’ve had this fantasy of owning a candy shop. It would have all sorts of sweet treats and the neighbourhood children would come in every day to buy their favourites. Having ran a retail business before, I’m not sure I’d want to do something like that after all. Maybe if I was retired and had a lot of money to burn.

Anyhow, I thought I would do this week’s post for candy shop owners. Of course, you’ll want to post photos of all your candies and treats, but something that’s a bit different is to post photos of your customers enjoying your treats.

Not only will it showcase your treats, but it will tie in a personal feel by showing people enjoying those treats. Plus, if people see themselves (or their children) in your photos, they’d be happy to share them with their friends, bringing more traffic to your social media channels.

Remember, always get permission before sharing someone’s photo publicly.
