I got a job!

I know you’ve heard this before, but this time it’s different.

I started a new job a couple of months ago. I am the communications specialist for Truehope Nutritional Support Ltd. They produce a micronutrient formula designed to help people with mental illness.

My responsibilities include managing social media properties, copywriting, and managing their newsletter.

Last spring, I noticed their were hiring a web developer, so I applied for that position. A couple of days after the interview, their HR rep phoned me to say they wanted to interview me again, but this time for a different position.

They had been impressed in my interview with my communications and social media skills and experience and were interested in creating a position around that. The interview went great and was very encouraging.

A couple of weeks later, I was told that they had implemented a hiring freeze because they were devoting their resources to winning a court case. I was disappointed.

About six months later, I heard back saying they were interested in moving forward. I interviewed again with a different set of people, and here I am.

The last two months have been a great experience. This is the first time where I feel like I am genuinely valued at work and I can use my strengths and talents in productive ways every day
