The church announced this weekend several new general authorities in Afica:
- Edward Dube, of Zimbabwe, First Quorum of the Seventy
- M.T. Ben Davis, of Ghana, Area Seventy
- Mervyn C. Giddey, of South Africa, Area Seventy
- John A. Koranteng, of Ghana, Area Seventy
Note that area seventies are not general authorities. Only members of the First and Second Quorums of Seventy are general authorities.
