I’m Kim Siever
I’m a copy editor in Lethbridge, AB.
People are always surprised when I tell them I’ve been writing and editing for over 30 years. True, much of those 3 decades saw me editing and writing off and on. But, I’ve been getting paid for my editing for over a decade, and I’ve been running my copy editing business in Lethbridge for over 5 years.

My latest writing tips
Here are a handful of the most recent articles I’ve written on writing, editing, and grammar.
How much do you charge?
I charge $15 per page for editing. That’s based on 12 pt Cambria font with 18 pt leading (in other words, 1.5 line spacing).
I offer a 50% postsecondary student discount.
What’s your turn around time?
Generally though, if it’s just 1 or 2 pages, I can do it in a day. An entire master’s thesis will probably take me at least a week, but likely close to two.
What kind of editing work
have you done?
If I had to pick one specialty though, it’d be editing graduate work. I’ve edited theses for 10 master’s students and a disseration for 1 PhD student. I’ve also edited papers that were to be pulished in academic journals.
I think one reason I do well with editing graduate work is that I’m a recent university graduate myself, having graduated in 2013. As a result, editing in APA, MLA, and Chicago is still relatively fresh in my mind.
One final thing. Recently, I started working in the Writing Centre at the University of Lethbridge, where I tutor undergraduate and graduate students to improve their academic writing. This gives me an added perspective to use when I edit your work.
