There’s a company I know that is offering a four month work experience position in website development. They are expecting the person they hire to have a lot of skills; maybe even unreasonably expecting.
- Fundamental knowledge of Internet technologies
- Java, ColdFusion, ASP, .NET, Crystal Reports
- MS SQL Server
- Database design & object oriented design experience
- Graphic design experience using Dreamweaver, Photoshop, or similar products
First of all, why would the company ask for someone with fundamental knowledge and yet expect advanced skills like Java or ColdFusion.
Second, why do they need someone who knows ColdFusion and ASP? Am I missing something?
And the kicker is that they want it all for ten bucks an hour. They want someone who can do database integration, object oriented programming, and graphic design, yet they only want to pay ten bucks an hour. That’s Canadian money, to boot.
What are they hoping for? A cheap superman?
lol what can we say? Canadians demand a lot :p You have a point, that is a way underpayed job. Good luck to them for finding someone. I earned more than that doing basic computer development in PHP.
